Young Scientists Discover How Insoluble Substances Can Be Separated from Liquids
Raipur: Grade 2-I learners of N.H. Goel World School enjoyed an exciting hands-on learning experience in the science laboratory while exploring the process of filtration.
The experiment was first demonstrated by the Lab In-charge, Damayanti Ma’am. Under the guidance of their science teacher, Ms. Aradhana Mohanty, the students then performed the process independently using filter paper and simple laboratory instruments.
The young learners experimented with two mixtures—dirty water and a chalk solution. They carefully observed how the liquid passed through the filter paper while the solid impurities and chalk particles remained behind.
The activity helped students understand that filtration is a simple method used to separate insoluble solid substances from liquids. It also strengthened their observation skills, scientific understanding, and curiosity.
The practical experiment made science enjoyable, meaningful, and easy to understand, proving once again that children learn best when they explore and discover through experience.
