The ceremony opened with a magnificent House March Past. Moving with precision and confidence, the four houses—Karma House (Blue), Vishwas House (Yellow), Gyan House (Red) and Lakshya House (Green)—captivated the audience with their discipline, coordination and indomitable team spirit. Every synchronised step reflected the strength of unity and the determination to strive for excellence.

Amid resounding applause, the newly appointed members of the Student Council 2026–27 were formally invested with their badges. More than ceremonial emblems, the badges represented the school’s faith in its young leaders and the responsibilities now entrusted to them.

RAIPUR: Armed with knowledge, enthusiasm and a determination to protect the planet, the Grade V students of G.D. Block N.H. Goel World School stepped forward as young environmental champions during an engaging classroom activity on Waste Segregation.

The classroom came alive as students explored one of the most urgent environmental challenges of our time—the responsible management of waste. Through thought-provoking discussions and an exciting hands-on sorting exercise, they learned to distinguish between biodegradable, non-biodegradable and recyclable waste and place each category in the appropriate bin.

What appeared to be a simple sorting activity soon became a powerful lesson in environmental responsibility. Students discovered that every discarded object presents a choice: it can either add to the growing burden on the planet or be managed thoughtfully to support a cleaner and healthier future.

The activity demonstrated how proper waste segregation reduces pollution, supports recycling, conserves natural resources and prevents reusable materials from ending up in landfills. The celebration commenced with an engaging introduction to the significance of the revered festival, where students learned about the divine journey of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra. Through interactive storytelling, the young learners gained an understanding of the festival’s spiritual importance and the values of devotion, humility, and togetherness that it represents.

The highlight of the celebration was a beautifully organized symbolic Rath Yatra procession. Dressed in festive attire and filled with excitement, the children joyfully pulled a magnificently decorated chariot while chanting devotional hymns and prayers. Raipur: Democracy came alive within the classrooms of N H Goel World School as the corridors of learning transformed into the nation’s Parliament during an engaging and thought-provoking classroom activity on “Parliament” for Grade VII students.

Stepping into the roles of Members of Parliament, students participated in a lively Mock Parliamentary Session, experiencing firsthand the democratic process of debating, discussing, and making laws. The activity recreated the atmosphere of the Indian Parliament, where every voice mattered and every opinion contributed to the decision-making process.

The highlight of the session was the presentation of a Bill proposing an increase in taxes in India. With remarkable confidence and maturity, students voiced their perspectives before the Speaker, displaying impressive analytical and communication skills.

While one group supported the proposed bill, emphasizing that increased tax revenue could strengthen national development, improve public infrastructure, and enhance welfare schemes, another group strongly opposed the proposal, expressing concern over the financial burden it could place on common citizens. The spirited yet respectful debate reflected a deep understanding of democratic values and showcased the students’ ability to examine issues from multiple perspectives.

The activity transformed textbook learning into a meaningful real-life experience, enabling students to understand parliamentary procedures, legislative debates, and the process of law-making in an engaging and interactive manner. It also strengthened essential 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, logical reasoning, public speaking, active listening, teamwork, and informed decision-making.

The activity was designed to strengthen the essential connection between visual observation and hand movement through a series of playful and interactive tasks.

As the children eagerly participated, they demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm while practicing coordination, precision, and focus. Each activity encouraged them to carefully observe and respond with accurate hand movements, thereby enhancing their fine motor skills, concentration, and accuracy.
