Young Innovators Turn Discarded Materials into Creative and Useful Treasures
Proving that creativity can give waste a remarkable second life, the students of Grade 5-I at N.H. Goel World School enthusiastically participated in “Kachre Se Karamaat” (Wonder from Waste)—an engaging creative challenge organised under the theme “Magic of the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.”
Armed with imagination and a commitment to protecting the environment, the students transformed discarded household materials—including old newspapers, cardboard, bottle caps, ice-cream sticks and plastic bottles—into beautiful, innovative and useful objects.
Items that might otherwise have ended up in landfills became colourful works of art and purposeful creations in the hands of these young innovators. Every creation conveyed a powerful lesson: waste is not always useless; with imagination and responsible action, it can become a valuable resource.
The hands-on activity encouraged students to think beyond conventional solutions and strengthened their creativity, imagination, problem-solving abilities and environmental awareness. It also helped them understand how practising the three Rs in everyday life can reduce waste, conserve natural resources and protect the planet.
More than a classroom exercise, “Kachre Se Karamaat” was a celebration of responsible thinking. It inspired students to reconsider their consumption habits and recognise that meaningful environmental change begins with simple choices made at home and at school.
The initiative reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing environmentally conscious learners who possess the creativity and determination to build a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future.
