Karma House Wins PP Cluster Inter-House Speech Competition

tudents of Grades 3–5 Showcase Confidence and Public-Speaking Skills

Raipur: N.H. Goel World School organised the PP Cluster Inter-House Speech Competition for Grades 3–5 on 12 October 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Students presented speeches on themes covering environment and sustainability, history, culture and society, as well as creative and unusual topics. The competition encouraged young learners to organise their ideas, express their opinions and speak confidently before an audience.

Participants were assessed on confidence, content and relevance, voice modulation, pronunciation, fluency, body language and expression.

Karma House secured first position, followed by Gyan House in second, Lakshya House in third and Vishwas House in fourth.

The event provided students with an opportunity to strengthen their communication skills and creativity while experiencing healthy competition and teamwork. It celebrated the young speakers’ efforts and encouraged them to continue developing their confidence in public speaking.

Young Mountaineer Shares Her Journey of Courage and Determination at N.H. Goel World School

Raipur: N.H. Goel World School hosted an inspiring interaction with 18-year-old mountaineer Kaamya Karthikeyan, who has climbed the highest peaks on all seven continents. The session brought together CBSE students of Grades 6 and 7 and Cambridge students of Grades 6–8.

Sharing experiences from her mountaineering journey, Kaamya highlighted the importance of determination, courage and self-belief in pursuing challenging goals. Her engaging presentation encouraged students to think beyond their limitations and approach their ambitions with confidence.

Students listened attentively and participated with thoughtful questions, showing keen interest in her experiences and the challenges she had overcome. Their enthusiasm continued after the session, as many stayed back to ask further questions and seek her autograph.

The interaction offered a meaningful message: achievement is not only about reaching a summit, but also about overcoming fears, persevering through difficulties and continuing to learn.

N.H. Goel World School thanked Kaamya for sharing her journey and encouraging young learners to explore new possibilities. The session left students with fresh motivation to dream big and work steadily towards their goals.

ISSO Games Basketball 2026–27 Opens with Exciting Matches at N.H. Goel World School

CHIREC Records Two Wins; Oakridge and Yellow Train Register Strong Performances

Raipur, 10 October 2026: The opening day of the ISSO Basketball National Championship 2026–27 at N.H. Goel World School witnessed competitive action in the Under-17 Boys’ and Girls’ categories, with teams competing across three courts.

In the boys’ category, CHIREC recorded two convincing victories, defeating Garodia 41–3 and Oberoi OGC 58–28. Oakridge registered the highest boys’ score of the day, overcoming DAIS 66–29, while JPIS defeated Oberoi JVLR 47–15.

Other boys’ results included Don Bosco’s 46–25 victory over DPS International and CNS Mumbai’s 29–13 win against Mount Litera. PSN defeated Nahar 33–13, Anand Niketan overcame The Gaudium 39–27, and Sreenidhi beat Yellow Train 35–14. PSG secured a 46–29 win over Manchester.

Oberoi OGC defeated Ashoka Global 53–17, Inventure overcame Ecole Mondiale 26–9, and Indus Hyderabad beat The Hyderabad Public 45–8. Sancta Maria registered a 34–8 victory over Fountainhead, while Heritage received a 20–0 walkover against Rockwell.

In the girls’ category, Yellow Train delivered a commanding performance, defeating Ecole 59–3. Oberoi OGC overcame JPIS 31–17, while HLC secured a 40–26 victory over Don Bosco.

Neev Academy defeated The Shriram Millennium 40–17, and Symbiosis registered a 40–0 win against host N.H. Goel World School. Ascend received a 20–0 walkover against Navrachna.

The opening results set the stage for the next round of competition as participating schools continued their campaign in the national championship.

N.H. Goel World School Observes World Mental Health Day with Mano Utsav 2026

Two-day programme brings together students, educators and experts to promote emotional well-being

Raipur, 10 October 2026: N.H. Goel World School organised Mano Utsav 2026 on 9 and 10 October to mark World Mental Health Day. Through a student-made film, expert discussions, creative performances and interactive sessions, the programme encouraged open conversations about mental health, reducing stigma and building emotional resilience. The second day was organised in collaboration with the Rotary Club.

The first day, held at Rangshilp, centred on the theme “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change.” It opened with the premiere of “सहगामी – You are not alone” a short film created by Grade 12 Psychology students under the guidance of Senior Academic Coordinator Ms. Shweta Das, with creative and technical support from Mr. Raatul Sarkar and Mr. Rakesh Mirdha. The film explored mental health experiences from young people’s perspectives.

Principal Dr. Awinash Pandey introduced the purpose of the gathering. Mr. A.K. Trivedi, Principal of Government Blind & Deaf Higher Secondary School, Raipur, then delivered a keynote address, sharing his personal journey and experiences of resilience.

A panel discussion titled “Real Voices, Real Change” featured Dr. J.C. Ajwani, retired professor of Psychology; Mr. Nitin Shrivastava, psychologist; and Dr. Damini Saini, Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at IIM Raipur. The discussion highlighted the importance of understanding mental health challenges and creating supportive environments for students. Participating schools D.P.S, Brighton and Ryan further expressed these ideas through street plays, music and theatrical performances. The day concluded with felicitation and certificate distribution.

The second day began with ceremonial lamp lighting and floral felicitations. Rotary Club President Dr. Preeta Lal addressed the gathering, while Chief Guest Mr. Sateesh Nair, educationist and former District Education Officer, Raipur, emphasised the importance of mentorship, emotional resilience and life skills.

Dr. Ela Gupta, a doctorate holder in Psychology and founder of Talking Threads, conducted an interactive workshop introducing ideas from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy. Students explored practical approaches to building self-esteem, reconsidering unhelpful thoughts and managing stress.

The programme concluded with memento presentations and votes of thanks by the Rotary Club and the School Counselling Department. Mano Utsav 2026 reaffirmed the school’s commitment to a caring environment where students feel heard, supported and encouraged to seek help.

Participants from 46 Schools Across 18 States Gather for a Celebration of Sport

Raipur: N.H. Goel World School inaugurated the ISSO Games Basketball 2026–27 with a grand ceremony graced by Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Arun Sao. The event welcomed participants from 46 schools across 18 states of India, bringing together young basketball players in a spirit of competition and camaraderie.

The ceremony featured a disciplined march by the school’s NCC cadets, setting a ceremonial tone for the occasion.

Mr. Rajendra Goel, Managing Director, Goel Group Companies, felicitated the Deputy Chief Minister, followed by the welcome and felicitation of other distinguished guests.

The dignitaries included Mr. Narendra Goel, Managing Director, Goel Group Companies; Mrs. Ankita Goel, representing the management of Goel Group Companies; Mr. S. K. Tomar, Director Administration; Dr. Awinash Pandey, Principal; Mr. Gaurav Dixit, ISSO Director; and Mr. Satish Mishra, ISSO Sports Coordinator. Young adventurer Kaamya Karthikeyan attended as the special guest.

Students of N.H. Goel World School presented an energetic musical performance featuring “Waka Waka,” extending a lively welcome to the visiting teams.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy CM Arun Sao praised the school’s Sports Academy and sporting facilities. He highlighted the importance of encouraging young people to participate in sports and referred to the Prime Minister’s continued support for young athletes, sharing the message “Khelega toh Khilega.”

The Deputy Chief Minister and other dignitaries released balloons to mark the opening of the games. The National Anthem and Vande Mataram added a patriotic spirit to the ceremony.

The celebrations then moved to the basketball court, where Shri Arun Sao cut the ribbon and made a ceremonial basket, drawing cheers from the gathering.

The inauguration set an enthusiastic tone for the tournament, celebrating sporting talent, teamwork, and the friendships that school competitions help build.

46 Teams from International Schools Across India to Participate; Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao to Grace the Opening Ceremony

Raipur, 9 October 2026: N.H. Goel World School, Raipur, is all set to host the ISSO (International Schools Sports Organisation) National Basketball Championship 2026–27 from 10th to 14th October 2026. The prestigious national-level sporting event will bring together 46 teams from IB and Cambridge international schools representing various states across India.

The championship will feature talented young basketball players competing in the Under-17 Boys and Girls categories, providing them with an excellent platform to showcase their sporting abilities, teamwork and competitive spirit.

The Opening Ceremony will be held on 10th October 2026 at 8:30 a.m., in the gracious presence of Shri Arun Sao, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and Sports Minister of Chhattisgarh, as the Chief Guest. His presence will be a source of encouragement and inspiration for the participating young athletes.

The five-day championship aims to promote sportsmanship, discipline, leadership, teamwork and healthy competition among students. Math Week Assembly Combines Numbers, Creativity and Everyday Examples

Raipur: Students of Grades 3–5 at N.H. Goel World School presented an engaging Hindi street play titled “अनंत से शून्य तक — Zero और Infinity की जुगलबंदी” during a special assembly organised as part of Math Week.

Through lively dialogues, audience interaction, and relatable examples, the students explored zero and infinity. They demonstrated zero’s role in place value using 1, 10, 100, and 1000, while introducing infinity as the idea of something without an end.

A playful cricket example connected Mathematics with everyday life, showing how a score begins at zero and grows as runs are added. The performance concluded with the inspiring message, “Zero से शुरू करो… Infinity तक सोचो!”

The street play brought together mathematical understanding, teamwork, and confident expression. By presenting concepts through humour and familiar situations, the young performers made Mathematics enjoyable and meaningful for their audience.

Simple Task Encourages Patience, Concentration and Care

Raipur: Senior Kindergarten students of N.H. Goel World School participated in an engaging activity that brought together cleanliness awareness and practical learning.

Children were encouraged to understand the importance of keeping their surroundings clean and caring for the environment. As part of the session, they carefully plucked leaves one at a time, practising gentle handling and close observation.

The task gave students opportunities to develop patience, concentration, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills. It also encouraged them to work independently and complete an activity with attention and care.

The experience demonstrated how simple everyday tasks can support young children’s learning and help them practise useful life skills.

Colourful Models Make Science Creative and Enjoyable

Raipur: Grade 3-I students of N.H. Goel World School explored the structure of the Earth through a hands-on clay-modelling activity.

Using different colours of clay, students created models representing Earth’s layers.

The visual and practical approach helped them understand how these layers are arranged while giving them an opportunity to express their creativity.

The activity connected scientific learning with art, making the concept engaging and easier to understand. Students enthusiastically shaped their models and enjoyed discovering what lies beneath Earth’s surface.
