Raipur: The divine spirit of Rath Yatra came alive at N.H. Goel World School as the enthusiastic students of the Early Primary (EP) Block immersed themselves in a vibrant celebration of one of India’s most revered festivals. Titled “Echoes of Devotion: EP Celebrates Rath Yatra,” the event beautifully blended faith, culture, tradition, and experiential learning, creating unforgettable memories for the young learners.
The festive spirit was evident from the very beginning of the day. As the little children arrived at school, their smiling faces radiated excitement and anticipation, setting the tone for a celebration filled with joy and devotion. In their classrooms, mentors introduced the students to the significance of Rath Yatra, narrating the story of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra and helping the children understand the spiritual and cultural importance of the sacred chariot festival.
Elegantly dressed in colourful traditional attire, the students gathered in the AV Room for a captivating special assembly, meticulously presented by the talented students of Senior KG-D. Through confident narration, devotional presentations, and vibrant performances, the young learners beautifully showcased the rich traditions associated with Rath Yatra, earning heartfelt appreciation from the audience.
The highlight of the celebration was a lively and energetic devotional dance performance that filled the atmosphere with enthusiasm and devotion. The celebration reached its grand crescendo as the children enthusiastically participated in a symbolic Rath Yatra procession, joyfully pulling the beautifully decorated chariot from the AV Room to the EP Reception. The corridors echoed with devotional chants and cheerful smiles, creating an atmosphere of unity, faith, and festivity that captivated everyone present.
Adding a traditional touch to the celebration, the students later gathered in the cafeteria, where they were lovingly served Panjiri Prasad, allowing them to experience the customs and sacred traditions associated with the festival.
The celebration served as a meaningful learning experience, helping children connect with India’s rich cultural heritage while nurturing values of devotion, gratitude, unity, and respect for traditions. It also reflected the school’s commitment to providing experiential learning opportunities that go beyond textbooks and foster holistic development.
Appreciating the efforts of the students and teachers, Director Administration Mr. S. K. Tomar and Principal Dr. Awinash Pandey stated that celebrating festivals in school enables children to understand the essence of India’s cultural diversity while strengthening their moral values and sense of belonging. They emphasized that such experiences help students remain connected to their roots while growing into compassionate and culturally aware global citizens.
