Hands-On Social Science Activity Brings Geography to Life

Raipur: Grade 5 CBSE students of N.H. Goel World School explored Earth’s heat zones through a creative Social Science activity, transforming balls into three-dimensional models of the Earth.

Students marked important lines of latitude, including the Equator and the Polar Circles, and labelled the Torrid, Temperate and Frigid Zones. Working with a curved surface helped them visualise the location of these zones and better understand broad global climate patterns.

The activity combined geographical learning with creativity and teamwork. By constructing and labelling their own models, students turned classroom concepts into something they could observe and explain.

Their enthusiastic participation demonstrated how hands-on experiences can make geography more accessible, meaningful and enjoyable.
