Four-Day Literacy Programme Engages CBSE and Cambridge Students from Classes 1 to 12
Raipur, 10 August 2026: The Library Department of N.H. Goel World School is hosting Reading Fest 3.0 from 10 to 13 August 2026 for CBSE and Cambridge students of Classes 1 to 12.
Designed to develop reading, speaking, comprehension and critical-thinking skills, the four-day programme features age-appropriate activities for primary, middle and senior students. The activities creatively use books and other resources available in the school library.
Primary Level: Building Strong Foundations
Students of Classes 1 to 5 will participate in activities focused on pronunciation, fluency, expression, punctuation and reading confidence.
The activities include:
- The Sound-and-Action Story Circle for phonemic awareness
- Choral poetry recitation
- Story relays
- Punctuation and expression exercises
- One-minute sight-reading challenges
These activities will help young learners recognise sounds, read smoothly and express themselves confidently.
Middle Level: Reading with Understanding and Expression
Students of Classes 6 to 8 will focus on performance, comprehension, vocabulary and public speaking.
Their activities include:
- Library Radio Drama to practise dialogue delivery and voice modulation
- The Vocabulary Detective to understand unfamiliar words through context
- The 90-Second Book Pitch to develop public-speaking and presentation skills
These experiences will encourage students to understand texts deeply and communicate their ideas clearly.
Secondary and Senior Secondary: Thinking Beyond the Text
Students of Classes 9 to 12 will participate in activities designed to strengthen critical analysis, formal speaking and creative expression.
The activities include:
- Dramatic monologues to understand meaning and subtext
- Editorial Express for presenting news summaries
- Poetry slams to explore vocal expression
- The Great Passage Debate for quick reading and critical analysis
Reading Fest 3.0 reflects the school’s commitment to building a strong reading culture. It encourages students to explore books, discover new ideas and develop the confidence to express their thoughts.
