Hands-On Science Activity Encourages Responsible Waste Management and Environmental Awareness
Raipur: Grade 2 students of N.H. Goel World School enthusiastically participated in a hands-on Science activity based on Reduce, Reuse and Recycle—the 3Rs.
Using waste and easily available materials, the young learners created useful and imaginative objects. The activity helped them understand that many items commonly thrown away can be reused or recycled instead of becoming waste.
Students explored the three important principles:
- Reduce: Use materials carefully and avoid creating unnecessary waste.
- Reuse: Find creative ways to use old or unwanted objects again.
- Recycle: Convert suitable waste materials into new and useful products.
The activity encouraged creativity, imagination, problem-solving, and responsible decision-making.
It also helped students connect classroom learning with real-life situations and recognise that every individual can contribute to environmental protection through simple daily actions.
By the end of the session, students could identify reusable and recyclable materials, explain the importance of reducing waste, and understand their role in keeping the Earth clean and healthy.
