Matching Games and Sentence Exercises Make Grammar Engaging
Raipur: Grade 6-D students of N.H. Goel World School strengthened their understanding of Subject–Verb Agreement through two enjoyable classroom activities.
In “Find Your Partner,” students received slips containing subjects or verbs and moved around the classroom to find a correct match. Pairing “He” with “plays” and “They” with “play” helped them recognise how verb forms change according to the subject.
During the Sentence Slip Activity, learners selected suitable subjects to complete sentences and explained their choices. For example, they completed “___ are playing” with “They,” connecting their answer to the rules of agreement.
Students also explored sentences involving either–or, neither–nor, collective nouns, each, and every, discussing the appropriate verb forms and answering with confidence.
The activities encouraged participation, reasoning, and clear expression, helping students apply grammar rules through movement, discussion, and practice.
