Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Strengthen Their Understanding of Workplace Respect and Child Safeguarding
Raipur: N.H. Goel World School organised a comprehensive awareness and sensitisation workshop on the Protection of Women from Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
Conducted at Rangshilp, the interactive programme brought together the entire teaching and non-teaching staff, reflecting the school’s commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, transparent, and legally compliant campus.
The workshop was facilitated by legal and safeguarding expert Ms. Saloni Tyagi, who emphasised the importance of professional boundaries, responsible conduct, and mindfulness in everyday interactions.
The session focused on three key areas:
- Workplace respect and boundaries: Staff members were sensitised to how casual remarks, microaggressions, and unintended physical proximity may cross personal or professional boundaries.
- Child safeguarding and legal responsibilities: Participants learned to recognise possible behavioural signs of distress in children and were reminded of the importance of following immediate reporting protocols and statutory obligations under the POCSO framework.
- Institutional safeguards: The workshop reinforced the school’s zero-tolerance approach towards harassment and highlighted the role of the Internal Complaints Committee in addressing concerns fairly and responsibly.
