Interdisciplinary “Crops” Activity Brings Fractions to Life
Raipur: Grade 5 students of N.H. Goel World School enthusiastically participated in an interdisciplinary Mathematics activity based on the topic “Crops.”

Inspired by the thought, “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn,” the activity encouraged students to understand how Mathematics is used in farming and everyday life.
Students applied the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions to farming-related situations. They collected, interpreted, and analysed information before using their mathematical knowledge to solve practical problems.

The activity helped learners understand that Mathematics extends beyond textbooks and plays an important role in agriculture. It also strengthened their calculation, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and information interpretation skills.
By connecting classroom concepts with real-life farming practices, the activity made Mathematics practical, engaging, and enjoyable.
From fractions in the classroom to calculations in the fields—Mathematics is everywhere!
