Hands-On Experiment Transforms Scientific Concepts into Meaningful Learning

Raipur: Grade 5-I students of N.H. Goel World School visited the Chemistry Laboratory for a practical activity based on Unit 2.4: Chemical Reactions.

The activity aimed to help students observe the changes that occur when different substances react and form new substances. Following their teacher’s instructions and basic laboratory safety rules, the learners carefully examined the materials before and after mixing them.

Students looked for important signs of a chemical reaction, including:

  • A change in colour
  • Formation of bubbles or gas
  • A change in temperature
  • Formation of a new substance

During the experiment, students noticed visible changes when certain substances were combined. They carefully observed and recorded their findings, strengthening their understanding of how chemical reactions take place.

The practical experience helped learners understand that a chemical reaction occurs when one or more substances change to produce new substances with different properties.

The activity developed students’ scientific curiosity, observation, recording, analytical, and practical laboratory skills while making the concept enjoyable and easy to understand.

Observe. Experiment. Record. Discover—the exciting journey of learning science!
