The highly engaging session was led by Prof. Dhiraj Singh, Deputy Dean, Times School of Media and Head, Centre for Media and Technology, Bennett University, who was accompanied by Mr. Vivek Gautam, an accomplished educator and Marketing Head at Bennett University, the Times of India Group.

Through interactive discussions, storytelling exercises, live demonstrations, and technology-driven activities, students experienced the dynamic world of media beyond textbooks. Captivating students with real-life industry experiences, Prof. Dhiraj Singh offered an insider’s perspective on the rapidly evolving media ecosystem. He explained how careers today extend far beyond newspapers and television into exciting domains such as digital journalism, content creation, advertising, public relations, filmmaking, anchoring, podcasting, social media management, corporate communication, and OTT platforms. He emphasized that Media and Journalism has emerged as one of the fastest-growing, most creative, and highly rewarding career sectors of the 21st century.

The students were also introduced to a wide spectrum of career opportunities available after Grade XII. They explored the growing demand for digital media professionals, content creators, YouTubers, podcasters, brand strategists, advertising experts, journalists, filmmakers, scriptwriters, editors, public relations professionals, and corporate communication specialists. The session further highlighted the academic programmes offered by the Times School of Media, Bennett University, enabling students to make informed career choices aligned with their interests and aspirations.

Goel World School, in collaboration with the Fire Department, Government of Chhattisgarh, organized a comprehensive Fire Safety Mock Drill to equip students with essential life-saving skills and emergency response techniques.

The awareness programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of students from Classes VI and VII, who gained valuable hands-on experience in dealing with fire emergencies. The initiative aimed to instill a sense of responsibility, presence of mind, and preparedness, ensuring that students are well-equipped to respond effectively during unforeseen situations.

The session was conducted by Fire & Safety Officer Mohammed Faiz and his expert team, who delivered an engaging and informative demonstration on fire prevention, emergency protocols, and the importance of remaining calm during crises. The officers explained various fire hazards, preventive measures, and safety practices that can significantly reduce risks in everyday life.

One of the highlights of the programme was the live demonstration of fire extinguishers, where students learned the correct techniques for operating different types of extinguishers. The practical session was followed by a mock evacuation drill, during which students and staff efficiently evacuated the building in an orderly and disciplined manner under the guidance of the Fire Department officials. The exercise provided participants with real-time experience of emergency evacuation procedures and emphasized the importance of teamwork, alertness, and quick decision-making.

The interactive session encouraged students to ask questions and actively engage with the experts, making the learning experience both informative and memorable. Goel World School’s FP Cluster transformed into a vibrant world of colours, confidence, and creativity as the enthusiastic learners of Grade 1-A participated in an engaging Object Talk Activity. The event beautifully showcased that even the youngest learners can become confident communicators when given the right platform.

Dressed adorably as colourful fruits and vegetables, the tiny speakers confidently stepped forward to introduce themselves and describe their favourite fruit or vegetable in simple and expressive English. From juicy mangoes and crunchy carrots to sweet apples and healthy spinach, every child spoke with enthusiasm, delighting teachers and classmates alike.

The activity was much more than a speaking exercise. It served as an exciting learning experience that helped students enrich their vocabulary, strengthen pronunciation, enhance observation skills, and develop confidence in public speaking. As each child expressed ideas with innocence and enthusiasm, the classroom came alive with laughter, learning, and applause.

The Object Talk Activity encouraged children to think independently, communicate clearly, and overcome stage hesitation from an early age. It also fostered creativity as students beautifully dressed up as their chosen fruits and vegetables, making learning immersive, enjoyable, and memorable.
